Lucie Rizzo--Mafia princess-turned-dog accessory entrepreneur—is riding high after scoring a partnership with Buzzy Sneider, America's leading craft and interior decorating mogul. A collaboration that is sure to move Lucie's fledgling business into the next tax bracket.
When Buzzy turns up dead and Lucie's BFF and business partner, Roseanne, is accused of the murder, Lucie will stop at nothing to prove Ro's innocence. Even if it means keeping secrets from her new squeeze, sexy detective Tim O'Brien, who's determined to keep Lucie from running one of her screwball investigations.
With Ro behind bars and Tim hot under the collar over Lucie's meddling, Lucie is forced to accept her father's help to clear Ro's name and save their business. But will doing so put a killer hot on her heels?

Interview with Adrienne Giordano
How did you come up with the idea for this story?
For this particular book my inspiration came from a social media smackdown between two celebrities. As the war raged on, all I could think about was how the harsh words could turn into something violent. And voila! Book idea.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere. Newspapers, social media, the evening news. The world is an absolute gold mine. You can’t make this stuff up.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
My biggest challenge comes from the pressure I put on myself. I’m brutal on myself during the drafting stage. If I’m not happy with how a plot is unfolding, it’s not uncommon for me to scrap it and start over. I really strive to give my readers a story they will (I hope!) love.
What are your current projects?
I’m currently editing book four in the Lucie Rizzo series (Dog Collar Cuisine) and doing research for book five, Dog Collar Confidential. This series is always so much fun to research. If people looked at the browser history on my computer they’d be scratching their heads.
Tell us about your first book. What would readers find different about the first one and your most recent published work?
My first book was a romantic suspense (Risking Trust) about a woman who inherits a major metropolitan newspaper. She becomes the publisher of the newspaper and then teams up with her ex-lover to solve his estranged wife’s murder. Risking Trust is grittier and much more serious in tone than Dog Collar Chaos. The Lucie Series is more of a mystery with humorous elements. While writing the Lucie series, I’m more focused on finding places to inject some lunacy.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Yes. All my books have an underlying theme about honor and justice. My characters always strive to right a wrong.
Does music play any type of role in your writing?
Always. I enjoy long walks so I will create playlists for whatever book I’m working on. Whenever I go out for a walk, I’ll listen to the playlist. The music kick-starts my creative juices.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your life?
Sometimes. That’s all I’m saying. I can’t risk the people in my life being mad at me. My friends and family all know that everything they say or do can wind up in a book. They’ve been warned.
What books have influenced your life most?
The first adult fiction I remember reading was the thriller Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon. I loved the suspense, but was more intrigued by the relationships. After reading that book, I searched for books that mixed romance and suspense.
