Forever and a Night!
Nathan Davenport is being stalked by Isabella Ravini, the feral vampire who stole his
human life over a hundred and sixty years ago. She made him her fledging, a slave for
her dark, evil purposes—hunting humans. After a few years she released him, and
Nathan reluctantly learned to accept the cursed life she’d foisted upon him.
Over time he amassed a great fortune, which today has made him famous
worldwide. Isabella decides she wants to be a part of this world of fame and fortune
Nathan created for himself. She’s determined to marry him, and love has nothing to do
with it. His money is her primary target, and the fame and prestige attached to being
the wife of one of the richest men in the world wouldn’t be so bad either.
In an effort to evade her until he can figure out how to stop her, he hides at a safe
house he owns in New Orleans. One Saturday evening in NOLA, he decides to have
dinner in the city. He chooses a quiet little Italian bistro, never imagining this night
will change his life forever. The human woman who delivers his order isn’t a server,
but the restaurant’s sous chef, a beautiful ethnic woman possessing the most delicious
blood scent he’s ever encountered.
The moment Mia Peebles arrives at his table with his plate, tasting her becomes
an obsession. Mia wants nothing to do with him because of Nathan’s reputation as a
playboy. So Nathan enchants her, feeds from her, but his lusts for her blood and body
play havoc with his thinking.
Nathan finds a way to bring her into his life as his personal chef and quickly falls
in love with her. The trouble is Mia has no idea he’s a vampire because during the
enchanting episodes, Nathan blocked her memories of those sensual encounters.
How will Nathan tell her the truth without losing her and keep Isabella from
finding him? Or worst yet, will Isabella discover how much Mia has come to mean
to him?

Q & A with Lana Campbell about Forever and a Night!
Forever and a Night is a romance about a vampire billionaire, Nathan Davenport who has just inherited a host of troubles from his feral, evil sire, Isabella Ravini. She wants to marry him for his name, fame and fortune and she is stalking and threatening him to get her way. Nathan hides from her in New Orleans where he meets a human woman, a sous chef named Mia Peebles. He's drawn to her in a way he can't comprehend and yields to his dark desires to taste her forbidden delights. Using enchantment, he feeds from Mia and has several very sensual encounters with her, but after each one he erases her memories of all they share. His behavior with Mia borders on feral actions themselves and his conscious gets the best of him, especially as he begins to discover Mia is the embodiment of everything he's ever wanted in a woman.
Mia wants nothing to do with Nathan because he has a reputation as a rich playboy, but at this point she has no idea he's vampire. Nathan thinks he has this problem covered when he asks Mia to be his personal chef. She agrees but convincing her to get to know him and date him without using enchantment, just his skills as a man prove very difficult for Nathan. Eventually, Mia lowers her emotional armor and gives Nathan a chance. Romance begins to bud between them until guilt gets the better of Nathan again and he confesses to her he's vampire. He also reveals to Mia that he fed from her and erased her memories of the passionate encounters. Sickened and shocked, she runs from Nathan straight into the clutches of his nemesis Isabella.
Isabella sees Mia as her rival and tries to kill her by ripping out her throat, but Nathan refuses to let Mia die and gives her his blood which turns her vampire. When Mia wakes to discover Nathan has turned her into a spawn of hell, she despises him and wants to die. But Mia is a devote Christian woman and soon realizes although she can never be human again, she can learn to accept her new life as long as she lives by her Christian values. Her greatest hurdle is forgiving Nathan for his deceit, but realizes it's the only way for her heart to be free. Nathan in turn learns to bury his own self loathing in the light of Mia's astounding force of goodness. Eventually he wins her heart and allows God to have His way with his own heart which heals over a century worth of self loathing due to Isabella's effect on his life.
What initially inspired you to write Forever and a Night?
My younger girls obsession with Twilight. I kind of got hooked on the series too and decided I wanted to write a vampire romance for adults. Mia is in her forties and has three grown girls. They become the heroines in future books in this Forever and a Night series.
Tell us little about the characters Forever and a Night.
Mia is in her early forties working as a sous chef in an Italian restaurant. Her driving goal in life is to get her youngest daughter the funds necessary to attend Harvard Medical School. So when billionaire Nathan Davenport offers her a job as his personal chef, she's wary, but desperate and takes the job.
Nathan is a hundred and sixty year old vampire whose life revolves around making money. He's given up on true love and happily ever afters at least until he meets Mia, a woman with such a passion for life and goodness, he finds himself enchanted by her and becomes determined to do whatever it takes to get her into his life and bed.
Unfortunately Mia rejects Nathan's overtures initially, but she begins to see some good in him and opens her heart only to have it broken when she realizes she's fallen in love with a son of the devil, a vampire who used her to slate his satanic needs.
Good triumphs over evil in this story in the form of Mia's devotion to serve God, to love and forgive. Her choices change the very fabric of Nathan's heart in the end.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?
Getting it from a book the size of War and Peace into the 120K book it is now. I'm a long winded writer. LOL
What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
There first date at Marie Laveau's grave. It was both romantic and humorous and I loved bringing some of the history of New Orleans into the plot. This is a pivotal scene for Mia. This date is where she begins to fall in love with Nathan.
What are your future project(s)?
Right now I am actively seeking an agent for book two in my Forever and a Night series. The name of it is Dark Experiments. It's about Mia's oldest daughter, Tiffany Peebles.
Tiffany Jane Peebles takes a job as an IT for a gorgeous, sexy vampire, Doctor Christian La Mond’s OB/GYN vampire practice the V clinic. Passion sparks quickly between them until she falls victim to an angel of death poisoning V clinic staff and pregnant vampire patients.
Christian is the exception to Tiffany’s rule all males are louses. For years Tiffany has lusted after Christian and of late she can’t help wonder what it might be like to have a brief fling with him. The opportunity to explore her secret fantasy appears when Christian offers her a job as the IT person for his practice, the V clinic. She knows if he gives her the green light, she’s going to have a romp with her sexy vampire. When the night finally arrives and she and Christian have sex, the experience is so overwhelmingly powerful, Tiffany backpedals and tries to turn down the heat between them. She’s human. He’s a vampire. She can’t afford to fall in love with him.
Christian has other ideas. During their sexual encounter he discovers Tiffany is his life mate and he vows to change her thinking. His intentions are put on hold when he gets caught up in an angel of death’s vicious plan to chemically terminate V clinic patients’ pregnancies. Tiffany herself falls victim to a lethal dose of arsenic and Christian can only save her by turning her into a vampire. She’s furious when she wakes from her turning and discovers what Christian has done. She wants nothing to do with him ever again, but when she’s kidnapped by this angel of death and used as a guinea pig for deadly experiments she only has Christian to turn to save her life.
Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers about this book/series?
Forever and a Night isn't a typical vampire romance. I've woven the seedy dark side of vampirism with the theme that love triumphs evil both in the vane of human and spiritual love. This theme continues throughout the entire series.
My first vampire romance, Forever and a Night was published April of 2016 through Tate Publishing and currently has a four and a half star rating on Amazon. I’ve always been a passionate fan of paranormal romances and I love writing them. I’m working on my second currently and already have a good start on my third in this series. I love being a writer and attending writing conferences and book signings. Oracon in Springfield Missouri was the last conference I attended this fall where I was featured as a published writer. I've also been interviewed and featured on several writer's blogs and in the spring I have an interview set with nationally publicized cable TV show.
