EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Review: The Congressman's Wife by Arie Pavlov & Charlene Keel

The Congressman's Wife
The Congressman Trilogy #1
by
Arie Pavlov & Charlene Keel

Blurb:

The tabloids are full of stories about senators, congressmen, even presidents who cheat on their spouses. The Congressman’s Wife is about a beautiful woman who cheats on her high-profile politician husband. All she is to him is a trophy wife, born and bred for the part. She believes she has no choice but to play it—until she meets a talented chef and restaurant heir who makes her feel cherished for herself alone.

The more her husband uses and belittles her, the more deeply Eden falls in love with Kaleb. Even with Mitchell’s campaign in full swing, Eden and Kaleb manage to find ways to be together. Their brief stolen moments take them to Paris and then Cyprus, where Kaleb’s family owns olive orchards and a vineyard.

When her husband is wounded by a bullet from a disgruntled lobbyist, Eden must stay by his side. What she learns by doing her duty is the key to her freedom, if she has the courage to take a stand. Available as an e-book or print-on-demand.

Review:                                      4 stars

As much as I love reading, this book has me thinking hard. Why so much unhappiness both in the world and our lives. Yes I know its just a book, just a story and the characters are not real. or are they. This book is about the other shoe, normaly its about the politicians who cheat on their wives, but this one here is about the wife cheating on her husband.
But did she really, there is no love there, this is a man with more ambition then love for his wife, she is the trophy wife.
But she does meet someone who makes her feel cherished, not a trophy slung on his arm, but for her self, and what woman would not want that.
The more her husband treats like dirt, the more she falls in love with Kaleb. Eden and Kaleb manage to find time for each other despite the campaign being in full swing.
All through this her husband is shot by someone very unhappy, and since she is stuck at his side she does learn a few things that could be they key to her happiness. Will she have the courage to grab it or will she remain where she is.

I received a copy for my honest review!
