EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Review: Rescuing Kassie by Susan Stoker

Rescuing Kassie
Delta Force Heroes #5
by
Susan Stoker

Blurb:

Graham "Hollywood" Caverly feels the chemistry with Kassie Anderson in the emails they've been exchanging through a dating site. When they finally meet in person, and that online chemistry proves to have real-life sizzle, he knows she's the one. He couldn't be happier when their first date, at an annual Army Ball, goes better than he could have imagined. Until Kassie drops a bomb.

Kassie doesn't want to approach Hollywood on the dating site, but threats to her family leave her no other choice. She definitely doesn't want to fall for the man. But fall she does. Hard. After she admits the ruse--and after some understandable anger on both their parts--Kassie wonders if, in Hollywood's arms, a happy future is within her grasp.

But her past always finds her, and in Kassie's case, that's a dangerous proposition--because she's connected to an old enemy of Hollywood's Delta Force team. Very intimately connected... And it will take Hollywood, his Delta brothers, and even some outside help to do what should have been done the first time--eliminate the threat once and for all.

** Rescuing Kassie is the 5th book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Review:                                  5 stars

First of all I sure wish I could give this book more then 5 stars, for I would. Great and touching story.
Graham Caverly aka Hollywood found himself exchanging emails with Kassie Anderson also he found a chemistry that he had not felt before a connection with a woman, unlike anything he ever felt before.
Kassie Anderson also finds a chemistry unlike what she had with her ex boyfriend Richard, and now she finds herself liking Hollywood and agrees to a meeting with him to attend the annual Army Ball, and as happy as he is, the bomb that Kassie drops is not what he expected.
Kassie did not want to approach Hollywood, but the safety of her Family does not leave her much of a choice.
She falls for him, even thought that was not what she wanted to do, that made everything so much harder then she wanted right now. She finally decides to tell him why she is here, despite all the lies that her ex exposed her to and things he made her do.
The past finally caught up with her because her ex is none then an old enemy connected to Hollywood and the Team Delta Force.
Will Hollywood and Kassie overcome the shadows of her past, will her Family be OK, will Kassie survive what is coming for her, will Hollywood and the men of Delta Force be able to help her.
You will have to read it to find out, the story is a good one, it flows well as all Susan Stokers books do, plenty action, love and two souls coming closer to each other.
Oh least I forget, all our favorite characters are here in this book so it was like visiting great friends again.

The head doctor, Farrin Barr, has recently evacuated all staff from the facility, leaving her alone to deal with the two military men…and the terrorist horde hunting them.

Chased across northern Pakistan in a race for their lives, Jason and Farrin end up running from their own personal demons as much as from the enemy pursuing them. For Jason, being around his childhood friend, Shane, awakens unwelcome memories of an abusive past, while Farrin is haunted by a decision she made that forever changed her life.

In the midst of the chaos, both mental and physical, no one is more surprised by the attraction forming between Jason and Farrin than they are. Both have lived their lives closed off to relationships, unable to let go of the memories that haunt them. But just when they find the courage to move forward together, people from both of their pasts come back and threaten to destroy the new foundations of their love.

Excerpt Two:

The terrorists were speaking Pashto, probably, the language of both northern Pakistan and Afghanistan, but who the hell cared? It was foreign, and it was bad. He took Farrin by the arm and urged her, half-running, toward the front of the medical tent—toward the voices, which got his heart into a boxing match with his ribs. But that’s where a very large desk was located, long enough to handle his height, but also with concealing sides stretching all the way to the floor.

He darted behind the desk and went down on his knees, tugging Farrin down with him.

The voices were now right outside the door…rapid-fire words…instructions being given by a man in charge…

“Under!” he hissed, his temples throbbing, his chest on fire with aggression. If he was required to kill again, he couldn’t imagine having a single problem with it.

Farrin lay down on her back and scooted, sideways-caterpillar-style, under the desk.

Door hinges creaking open…

Pulse hammering, he bolted in after her—on her…which was the only place he could fit, and even then, barely. The space between his back and the underside of the desktop was nil, and it squashed him down on her, hip to hip, his knees to the tops of her shins—he was so much taller than she was. A breath emptied out of Farrin; warm air streamed past his ear.

Feet entered the ward and stomped past the desk. “Kaleem!” was called out.

Jason could feel Farrin’s heart banging fast and frantic against his own. He stared down at her. There was a little light coming from the chair-side of the desk, and he could see the shadows of her eyes. She was scared as hell.

The strange urge came again…to take care of her…to wrap his arms around her and pull her closer. A stupid urge. The concept of women needing comfort and protection was an age-old sham. Underneath their fragile exteriors, women really hid the strength and mettle to crush. They were for keeping at a firm arm’s length, not pulling close.

A terrorist walked too near to the desk... The toe of a sneaker clipped one of the wooden legs.

Jason stiffened.

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Audiobook Review: True Navy Blue & True Blue SEALs: Zak by Sharon Hamilton Narrated by J.D. Hart

True Navy Blue &
True Blue SEALs: Zak
SEAL Brotherhood #13
by
Sharon Hamilton
Narrated
by
J.D. Hart

Blurb:

New updated bonus material. True Navy Blue (prequel) now included in this book with True Blue SEALs: Zak.

Zak and Amy are destined for each other. After successfully passing the BUD/S training, and helping to stop a San Francisco terrorist attack, Zak goes to the arena of war with the rest of his SEAL Team 3 buddies, to return a changed man. Amy will have to negotiate the pain in her heart as she works to discover the man she loved going off to war is still the man of her dreams, and only if she can convince Zak he still is that man.

Review:                                       5 stars

Zak is the first in the True Blue SEALs series part of the SEALs Brotherhood series. When I first heard about this book I thought True Blue now aren’t all Navy SEALs true blue what is Sharon up to with this part of the SEALs Brotherhood series and after reading it & listening to it I figured out.

In the novella True Navy Blue Sharon introduce us to Zak. Zak was nothing but trouble when he was younger always a prankster that lead him to trouble but after a friend loses his life overseas I wants to follow his footsteps as a Navy SEAL but almost lost that chance after an auto accident in his hometown which the police chief had it out for him due to his Zac’s fast and furious fling in high school with his wild daughter Amy Dobson. Zak has kept Amy out of his system until she barged back into his life after that accident they spend one stolen night together before Zak ships off for his first deployment and all hell breaks loose. I wasn’t expecting everything Sharon has brought to her readers in her novels in a novella but was I mistaken. She gave her fans everything in this novella thrilling action, hot steamy sex & some HOT Navy SEALs.

In True Blue SEALS: Zak, Zak and Amy’s story continues. Before he deploys on his first deployment with SEAL team 3 Zak and Amy get married they are so happy and so in love before his deployment but when he comes home everything changes. Zak is struggling with what happen to him on his deployment and will not Amy in and tries to push her away. Will his stubbornness push her away or will Amy be a strong Navy SEAL wife and push back.

Sharon once again has started a new series instead of a series and this is one reader who can not read to find out who her next True Blue SEAL will be. If you are expecting some thrilling action, steamy sex and HOT Team 3 in True Blue SEALs: Zak you got it once again.

I was privileged to receive a free audiobook for True Blue SEALs:Zak from Sharon. I have always enjoyed reading Sharon’s books but I am always thrilled to listen to one. J.D Hart always brings the story to life. I wish I knew his secret how he keeps the voice for each character the same, I have never mistaken any character for someone else of his books he narrates for Sharon even if it is a character from a previous book you know exactly who it is. If you are a virgin to audiobooks, pick up one of Sharon’s books on audio and J.D. will have you hooked as he has me.

Blurb:

Navy SEAL Alphonso Manuel Esquidido "Fredo" Chavez has the heart of a lion and would do anything to protect and honor his beautiful bride, Mia. He'd fought for her love tirelessly, even after his Team buddies suggested he give up. But it was more than pride that wounded him when he discovered he could not father children. He is raising another man's son as his own, but can never give her what she wants more than possibly anything else in the world. He has kept this a secret only to himself and his best friend, Cooper. And he knows time is not on his side.

Mia Guzman has come a long way from wild child girlfriend of San Diego drug dealers to devoted mother and now dutiful wife of the man she now knows was always there for her, and always will be. She yearns to have a child with Fredo, to honor him with her body in every way she can, perhaps making up for the years she discounted his devotion.

Their beautiful love and marriage will be tested to the limits through twists and turns before the dramatic final outcome listeners will love.

Review:                                    5 stars

As a fan of Sharon Hamilton’s SEAL Brotherhood series I have been waiting on Fredo’s story and Sharon made the wait worth it. She first gave us Fredo’s novella Fredo’s Secret. Fredo is keeping a secret from his wife Mia He fears once he gives her his news she will not want him anymore. Even though Fredo’s Secret was a novella, Sharon gave what all her fans expect from one of her books, suspense, thrilling action, hot steamy sex and that dang sexy Navy SEAL team 3.

Sharon continued Fredo’s and Mia’s story in Fredo’s Dream. Fredo is still keeping his secret from Mia, but Mia has a secret of her own which she shares with him which throws his world in a whirlwind. Fredo can’t believe Mia hasn’t been faithful to him how could she do this to them. Will he be able to accept this baby she is carrying as he has stepped up and been a father to her son Ricardo by another man or will this destroy his relationship with Mia.

Fredo’s Dream as like all of Sharon’s other books didn’t not disappoint her fans! Once again we get the thrilling action, suspense, hot steamy sex, drama and that HOT SEXY Navy SEAL team 3. I love how in most of her books she brings some of the team 3 guys back & she keeps us up to date about what is going on in their family lives.

I was lucky enough to listen to this book on audio, Sharon writes the book for us to read and J.D Hart brings the story to our ears. J.D is such a wonderful storyteller, if you never have listen to J.D’s wonderful storytelling, you would think there was another person along with him telling the story. Butt in fact it is ONLY J.D. He is such a pleasure to listen to. When he tells a story you know right away who is speaking he is so magnificent in giving each player in the book a different book. It just amazes me how he can keep the voice to each character straight and from one book to the next, by the way have listened to plenty of Sharon’s books on audio and J.D always has the same voice for each character. If you love reading Sharon’s book and you have read everyone, but have a favorite one you have continuous go back, try one of her books in audio and like me you will want to hear everyone in audio.

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Audiobook Review: Jameson: Nashville SEALs and Nashville SEALs: Jameson by Sharon Hamilton Narrated by J.D Hart

Jameson: Nashville SEALs and
Nashville SEALs: Jameson
by
Sharon Hamilton

Blurb:

Jameson is now a SEAL and a husband. After a beautiful wine country wedding, he's ready to say goodbye to his Nashville singing career and hello to his first SEAL Team 3 mission. When his last gig turns into a reunion with an old flame, Jameson's marriage faces a tougher challenge than any training drill.

Lizzie isn't ready to watch Jameson deploy, but she knows he's doing the right thing for her and their little girl. When Lizzie comes face-to-face with her husband's enemies, their second chance at love could be their last.

Nashville SEALs: Jameson is a standalone romantic suspense novel in Sharon Hamilton's long-running Navy SEAL Brotherhood Series. If you like hot chemistry and incredible love stories, then you'll enjoy Sharon Hamilton's tale of hope, family, and a man's true calling.

Review:                                    5 stars

Nashville SEAL

Jameson Daniel is a country singer singing in small time venues trying to get that one break into the big time. When it comes to women it is like a revolving door, different one each night. He just can't forget that one woman a few years back, when he spent a week in North Carolina, that he left go. He meets some members of SEAL team 3 one night during a show, which makes him wonder his direction in life. Lizzie Carter has come to Nashville to tell Jameson her secret that she has kept from him for 3 years that will rock his world.

Wow once again Sharon Hamilton has brought a hot, sizzling romance. It sure warmed this girl up on a cold winter day, right from the start of the book. When I started the book I thought what the heck, where are the SEALs at, I was getting kind of disappointed but eventually they came, this gal got a smile on her face, got to have me some SEALs especially Kyle, Coop & Armando. I just love the brotherhood and loyalty that Sharon always shows in her books with the SEAL team 3, & you will not be disappointed in this book either. I loved how Jameson changed his horn dog ways after Lizzie came back into his life and revealed her secret that she kept from him for 3 years, he was a one woman man after. If you are looking for hot, steaming read to keep you warm during these cold winter nights, you may want to pick up a copy of Nashville SEAL, it sure steamed my glasses up.

Nashville SEAL: Jameson: Nashville SEALs
Jameson and Lizzie stories continues in Nashville SEAL: Jameson. We follow them as they continue on into marriage, marriage life, and raising Charlotte as two loving parents. Shortly after their marriage Jameson deplores with SEAL team 3 and follow them on their first separation. Soon after his return from his deployment he gets a chance of a lifetime to return to his singing life that he left behind when he joined the SEAL. Will he want that life back. Will it destroy his life as a SEAL and the life he is building with Lizzie and Charlotte.

Once again Sharon brings us romance, suspense, heartache, steamy sex and some very HOT SEALs. I always love visiting with the sexy hunks of SEAL team 3 and you always get that with one of Sharon’s SEAL books. I love the loyalty and camaraderie of the guys of SEAL team 3.

Audio Review

I have always enjoyed listening to one of Sharon Hamilton's books on Audio due to J. D Hart that man has the sexiest voice. He makes the characters come to life, has a different voice for each character. But after listening to Nashville SEAL this by far is my favorite to listen to. There are parts in the book where Jameson & Thomas sing & oh my when J. D starting to sing I started to swoon he has an incredible singing voice, I kept hitting the back button several times just to hear him sing. J. D. Hart has ruined me from listening to other audio books. Check one of Sharon's audio books out & you will understand why.
